Gen 38: 6-30
Vs 7 Her husband was so wicked, God slew him. Just
imagine what she went through in his hands
Vs 6, 8 When she was
married, it was an arrangement; now again, her opinion was not sought as she
was given to her late husband’s younger brother who was obviously no better
than her 1st
Vs 9, 10 He used her as
a ‘thing’ for his satisfaction. He was also, so bad God had to slay him.
[God desires our satisfaction, even sexually; He cares about the issues of our lives. He cares about how our spouses treat us.]

Vs 11 Obviously in those
days, women had no rights. Her father-in-law commanded that she return to her
father’s house and remain a widow till his last son grows up. He deprived her
of her youth, her freedom, her life and he deceived her. Imagine, remaining a
childless widow for life.
Used, Abused & Dumped – Tamar!
Vs 16-23 They could do
what was wrong to her because they thought nobody could see them and yet they
were her worst accusers.
Vs 24 Your worst
accusers are most times the worst offenders.
Vs 25-26 She was
vindicated by wisdom. What wisdom to have asked for the items she took from Judah instead of money.
Vs 27-30 The outcome of her escapade was the birth of twin boys Perez and Zarah.
Perez was the 2nd generation in the lineage of Jesus.
Though man may have taken advantage of your vulnerable situation, God always has a better plan. He neither sleeps nor slumbers, He sees and hears everything you're going through. In His own time, He lifts the vulnerable and downtrodden to a place of honour.
